Registration of a player with the FGBA requires that you provide us with limited personal information concerning the player, together with Proof of Age documentation. We use this information for the following purposes:
- To confirm that the player is a resident of the City of Mississauga. Under our Affiliation Agreement with the Mississauga Parks and Recreation Department, all registered players must reside in the City of Mississauga.
- To assign the player to the proper Division of Play (e.g., Tyke, Pee Wee, Bantam) based solely on the player’s age.
- To create a Team Roster for use by the manager and coaches of the player’s team, for purposes of team management. The Team Roster contains name, address, telephone and birth date information.
- For a player registered in any Division from Rookie Ball ‘AA’ up to Junior, to create a Team Roster for use by the Mississauga Baseball Association in confirming the matters set out in 1 and 2 above. This information is employed by the MBA in coordinating an interlocking schedule of play with teams from other Baseball Associations in Mississauga and in managing City-wide play-offs and championship games at Season’s end.
- For a player assigned to a team at the ‘AA’ Level, to create a Team Roster for use by the Select Ontario Baseball Association in confirming the matters set out in 1 and 2 above. This information is employed by the SOBA in coordinating a program of weekend tournaments in other municipalities in Southern Ontario and in managing the Provincial Championship Tournaments.
The personal information with which you supply us is retained by the FGBA for purposes of communicating registration information to players and their parents or guardians in future seasons. Summary statistical information (e.g., numbers of players by age or Division) that does not permit identification of individuals is used for insurance purposes and for purposes of evidencing compliance with our Affiliation Agreement with the Mississauga Parks and Recreation Department.
The personal information with which you supply us is used for no other purposes than those described above and is provided to no persons or organizations other than those referred to above.
