Volunteers Always Needed:

The Forest Glen Baseball Association is continually looking for dedicated volunteers to help with the organization and operation of our Association.  By being elected to, or volunteering for, a position on the Executive, you can show your willingness to be involved in Forest Glen Baseball beyond the role of supportive parent.

There are many positions that need to be filled to make our Association successful and some that only require a few hours of your time each month.  Others, such as Convenors of various Levels, are more of a seasonal commitment.  All of the volunteers that help this organization run do so because they realize that it takes people willing to help to make Forest Glen Baseball the successful organization that it is.

Get involved and help make a difference!

The Fear of Volunteering:

To a lot of people, the mere mention of volunteering is a scary word.  It puts into fear into us that we would never expect.  "Oh my god, what am I going to say to get out of it", "I really don’t have the time", "I'm involved in other things", "I know nothing about the topic", are some of the rationalizations made not to get involved.

Yet, we will stand for two hours in a hockey arena, or on a soccer field or baseball diamond, watching or waiting.  Well, that sentence takes care of the concerns of having no time and being involved in other things.  Now, as to the concerns of knowing nothing about the topic, most organizations have volunteers that end up wearing many hats or, to use anew age term, "multi-tasking".   These volunteers will be happy to mentor you in the responsibilities needed.

What benefit do you get from volunteering?  You get to utilize your personal skills and knowledge. You get self-satisfaction, and in many cases, a gleam from your son or daughter's eye.

At Forest Glen Baseball, we are constantly looking for volunteers to help out.  So, when you register your child, ask how you can get involved.  We have many positions to fill before and during the season.

Get involved and help make a difference!
